Oct 17 afternoon=raining-really are out right now. We walked all over the place this morning. Glad we picked up some cold cuts and bread and a jar of peanut butter...we just might stay in for supper tonight---we'll see how long this lasts---can't complain as this is the first time it has rained during the day since we left home.
Ok during our walk I took pictures of Payatta---most of the streets look like this one
If you buy soup from one of the street vendors they put it into a plastic bag for you. same goes with any sauces that come with your purchases
All the hotels do thier laundry and hang it out to dry--now the more posh ones don't put it out on the street to dry like this one--put I bet they hang it on hangers like this.
Sidewalk view
Pete on the street
Street view
open air market right off the street
Fried chicken looks pretty temping
Until you see how it is delivered to the vendors!!!
Standard homes for the ordinary people--with a fancy hotel in teh background
The boys who were the orange vests are scooter taxis. They will take you anywhere for a fee.
!00 bath is about $4 Canadian--- saw a lot of buzz cuts coming out of this shop.
No matter where you go there is always a women making a living with her sewing machine.
Roast duck---now if they did it without the head attached it would be a tad better
Vendor catching a ride on a truck taxi-- these trucks are all over the place--red ones for in town yellow ones go out of town.
Police officers wearing face masks. Not a lot of people wearing masks here but a few.
Because of the rain we have not been back to the scuba gear place--but will keep you posted on Pete's negotiations.
