We flew into Shanghai then boarded a bus to Suzhou ===so another early morning 2 hours on a plane , 2 hours on a bus---Had Burger King hamburgers and fries on the bus to save time so we could get all the planned activities done today . To say the least we are tired. We went to Tiger Hill which is a 1000 year old temple that leans-- neat that it has not fallen over---but it is now reinforced--lots of great architectural photo ops.
We then took a canal boat ride and saw old China. So far with the exception of the temples and Terra Cotta warriors China is a modern city with modern highways and could be anywhere in the world== they do have so many apt building it is like looking at a field of corn and every corn stock is a 40 story apt building. I kid you not row apon row of apt buildings. Today was the first time we saw single family homes.
Tiger Hill Temple--leans the other way --so you really can't see it from this shot----sorry about that :)
Real Bonseye tree
can't spell it but you know what I mean :)
More stairs....these people love their stairs.
Filled mini donuts on a stick covered in sticky candy syrup----for the next 3 days it is a National Holiday---vendors selling balloons and lots of carnival atmosphere.
Canal cruise
local market
Supper time outside his store
Got to take a shower and go to bed....they really do want to show us everything there is to see. Must say we are sleeping well.
